1 Timothy 4:12 Youthful Hand Reminder Craft

After discussing the verse "Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity," continue reading 1 Timothy 4:12-15. The instructions given can summarized into five S's:
  1. Standard
  2. Study
  3. Stir up spirit
  4. Soak in word
  5. Stick to it
Discuss with the kids how they can follow the five S's to help them grow in their Christian walk and how even the youth of the church can be an example of Christ in the world.

Following the lesson, have the children trace their hand on bright cardstock or construction paper and cut it out. Younger kids made need help tracing and cutting. Have them cut out the five S's and glue one S's on to one of the fingers. Cut out the verse and glue it to the palm of the hand. Take a piece of ribbon and tie it around one of the fingers of their craft. Stick a piece of magnet strip to the back of the hand. Each child now has a magnet to help remind them to follow the five S's and be and example for Christ.
Materials Needed: cardstock/ construction paper, glue, scissors, ribbon (about 4 inches per child), sticky magnet strips (at least one inch per child), craft pattern.
